NDE Science Quarterly Updates

Spring Edition 2016

Wrapping Up 2015-2016

Wow! What a FAST year it has been. So many great things happening in science across the state and much more to come. As you reflect on your year, remember the positive relationships you built, the light bulbs that went on, and all of the lives you impacted.

As we look forward to the 2016 and 2017 we will get to experience an amazing solar eclipse, begin science standards revision, adopt new standards (Sept 2017) and engage in lots of new learning. Enjoy your summer!

"If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people."

The Nebraska Wildlife Federation is hoping to conduct five, 2-hour, schoolyard monarch butterfly and pollinator habitat workshops and fifteen community-based backyard monarch habitat workshops across eastern Nebraska, which is directly in the monarch's migratory path. The talks could run as late as September. Of course, the earlier the better if teachers want to establish a plot this year. For more information, contact Carolyn Butler carolyn@nebraskawildlife.org
