Last Day Of School
Posted on April 6, 2021
The last day of school has been set for June 11 for all students. Monday, June 14 is the last day for teachers.
School calendars are approved by the Board of Education before the start of the school year. State law dictates that at least three (3) inclement weather days be built into the calendar which factors into determining the last day of school. The last day is normally announced once the potential for inclement weather has reasonably passed.
This school year, students were able to learn virtually when they could not be safety transported for in-person learning. As a result, no inclement weather days were used and the school year is ending earlier than indicated the approved calendar.
Enrollment Process Begins Online for All New Pre-K through 12th Grade Students
April 8, 2021 - PowerSchool Online Enrollment (Spanish) is now open for registration of all new pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students for the 2021-2022 school year.
PowerSchool Online Enrollment is a secure platform that allows parents/guardians to securely enter their child’s information into an online database. New users begin by using their email address to create an account and then proceed through the process. Families without access to a device or the internet may contact the school for assistance.
If an in-person visit is needed, schools will use the information provided in PowerSchool to call families and schedule an appointment to complete the enrollment process.
For more information about the enrollment process, please visit the Enrollment-Attendance page.
New Kindergarten Students: All children whose birthday is on or after September 2, 2015, and on or before September 1, 2016, are required by Maryland law to begin kindergarten in September 2021.
Pre-Kindergarten (4 Year Old) Registration and Screening requires a two-step process to request enrollment. Families with children whose birthday is on or after September 2, 2016, and on or before September 1, 2017, may request their child be enrolled in pre-kindergarten classes that begin in September 2021.
Step 1 – Registration: Online registration will begin in April. Families without access to a device or the internet may contact the school in April for assistance with registration.
Step 2 – Screening Day: By appointment only on the days specified below
Families must contact the child’s school to schedule a screening appointment. Vision, hearing, speech and language, and early learning skills will be informally assessed, and take approximately 30 minutes.

Attendance
Parents and guardians, please remember even though your student(s) is not in the building learning, an absence still requires a parent or doctor note to be turned into the school within 10 days of the absence.
Notes may be emailed to the teacher or Mrs. Kellner (kellner.donna@ccpsstaff.org). As in the past, your doctor, dentist, etc. can fax a note to 410 634 1789.
If you are sending a parent note, be sure to include the reason for the absence. If you are planning a trip, notify your child's teacher prior to leaving by emailing the teacher. Teacher's will notify the office so the absence can be approved by Mr. Sutton and documented as parent note.
