Repeat: Student-Led Conferences on February 8, 2018
Student-Led Conferences are just around the corner! English Landing will host Student-Led Conferences on Thursday, February 8 to provide each student the opportunity to review his/her learning progress with his/her parents or family. This date is not listed on the 2017-2018 Park Hill School District Calendar because it is an event specific to our school. The English Landing teachers believe in the importance of empowering students to set individual learning goals and want to provide an opportunity for parents and families to visit their child's classroom and participate in this process.
It is also really hard to believe that this 2017-2018 school year is flying by so quickly! Parents and families haven't visited classrooms to review learning progress since the end of the first quarter.
Please use the sign-up genius link your child's teacher emailed last week (and likely again this week) to schedule a time for your child's Student-Led Conference.
REMINDER: Your Child attends Student Led Conferences with YOU!
Thank you for your support!

REPEAT: NEWS FROM THE HEALTH ROOM
There is a high rate of flu diagnoses in Platte County. To protect our students and families, here are some helpful guidelines from the CDC to follow.
- Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
- While sick, limit contact with others as much as possible to keep from infecting them.
- If you are sick with flu-like illness, CDC recommends that you stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities. (Your fever should be gone for 24 hours without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.)
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.
- Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs like the flu.
- Take flu antiviral drugs (https://www.cdc.gov/flu/antivirals/whatyoushould.htm) if your doctor prescribes them.
- Visit https://www.cdc.gov/flu/consumer/prevention.htm for more information.
- Please call Mrs. Kimbrel, school nurse, at 359-4374 with any questions or concerns.
