Cypress Elementary Digital Learning

Please use the Digital Learning sites that our amazing staff have created to help you as you navigate this digital learning. You can expect that these sites will stay live and change as needed. If we move more toward online learning after April 3rd, these sites will guide your experiences. If we move back to traditional learning after April 3rd, we will keep these sites up as another resource for our families.

What about COVID19?

LISD is working with multiple sources to determine best plan of action moving forward. Please see the link below to review all district information on Foodservice, next steps, and FAQs.

Principal's Corner

Amazing Cheetah Families-

While our Cheetahs have been at home this week, our teachers, instructional staff, and admin team have been working hard to find ways to help you and your children access extensions of learning. We have all met virtually and it has been refreshing to see smiling teachers. The consensus of our staff is they miss each child and overall normalcy of school!

Today you will have had instructional information shared with you in an email that explains teacher availability, web links, sample schedules, and learning opportunities from core academic areas, Specials, Social Skills, Supports, and Enrichment. Please use the tools that are given, but know that we fully understand the different situations each family may be in at this time. Although the overall look of our plans may change if our school closures last beyond the April 3rd date, our support will remain as consistent and constant as possible.

Tuesday, we shared with our teachers this Vimeo . Many have shared out again, but if you have not had a chance to watch it, take a moment. I feel like it is powerful as a community member and parent, especially if you have children who are older than our Cypress Cheetahs. I have already seen positive posts of actions taken by our cheetahs!

As many of you and staff move into the dual day role of parent, sibling, spouse, or roommate, AND at home educator, our admin team thought we would share a video (below) and a couple of pics of how we are dealing with our dual role during this isolation and distancing. In the video, I share a letter that was written by an educator and mom. Our district Teaching and Learning along with our AMAZING Cypress staff have worked very hard to provide resources for you to use with your children. The purpose of my portion of the video is simply to say.. sometimes the best laid out plans may need to be adjusted on different days. The most important thing at the end of this time, is your child’s wellbeing.

Please know that although we are still uncertain of what our next several weeks may look like, we all are here for you. I love how many teachers I have seen form our campus and beyond offering their expertise to all students via Facebook and social media. We are here for our community. We are, Rooted in Love.

In community and love,
Kristen
