Spotlight on Kindergarten

Earth Day was a wonderful day in Kindergarten! Ms. Sessoms and Ms. Chavis’ students enjoyed a scavenger hunt outside in the yard. They focused on comparing physical traits, such as the texture of sticks and flowers. Collaboratively, they designed and created a beautiful collage to display, which we all are enjoying! WE LOVE THE EARTH!

On Career Day, the children dressed for success! Imagine our delight as the teachers got to look into the future, and see the children all grown-up. From A- Anthropologist to Z - Zoologist, they showed up as their best future selves. We are looking forward to checking in on them 20 years from now!

The entire Kindergarten staff wants to send a special thank you to our Media Specialist, Ms. Tew for The Gift of Reading. She gave students their choice of two brand new books, and I assure you, they were very happy! Our students love reading, and they are becoming independent readers. Reading with your child at home is one of the many things you can do to increase their chances of being successful in school. Be sure to make regular visits to the NHC Library this summer!

The Kindergarten Team wants to send a BIG THANK YOU to our students and families for learning and growing with us this year. The 2020 - 2021 school year has been one to remember!

Spotlight on Music

In music we have been walking through time to take a closer look at some of the musical periods of history. Second Grade is learning about the Baroque Period, while Third Grade is being introduced to the Classical Period. 4th Grade is getting a dose of dramatics with the Romantic Period, and 5th Grade is learning about Impressionism. Kindergarten and First Grade have been hard at work developing their foundational musical skills and learning about music around the world. Each class has been working toward achieving a "Music Party" as a reward for good behavior. We have had so much fun eating popcorn and voting on fun musical games to celebrate!

Please Return School Technology

We have begun collecting school technology that was checked out to our in-person learners. Please make sure you send the laptop, ipad, chargers, and/or hotspot devices you checked out from the school for your child to use during remote learning.

Kindergarten Registration

Please make sure you are completing kindergarten registration for any child who will be school-age next year. Encourage your friends and neighbors to enroll their children too. If you have any questions, please contact Sandra Barefoot, Wrightsboro’s Data Manager at 910-815-6909 ext. 76987.
