* "All mankind.....being all equal and independent, no one ought to harm another in his life, health, liberty, or possessions". - Every citizen is equal and no one should harm another's life, health or their possessions.

* "New options are always suspected, and usually opposed, without any other reason but because they are not already common"- New options are suspected because when something happens you may expect it but you don't really know everything about it.

* " The only fence against the world is a thorough knowledge of it."- The only way to stop someone from growing and learning new things is if you don't teach them

John Locke was a man who believed that we are all created equally. He said that we are all clean slates when we are born. He also believed that we should have rights and they should be protected by the government. John Locke influenced the founding fathers. They then took his idea's and put the into the constitution. His idea about the government protecting the citizens influenced the Constitution
