Second Semester Updates
It's 2020!! Let's start this New Year off strong!
You don't want to miss out on these upcoming events at FHS!
Students working on completion of their Education and Career Action Plan (ECAP)
Ninth Grade: Graduation requirements, stress management, Learning Style Inventory, Strengths Explorer, creation of four-year plans.
Tenth Grade: Graduation and scholarship requirements, looking over your four-year plans, career assessments, transcript review, Raise.Me.
Eleventh Grade: MI Advantage, creating a resume, career assessments, My Game Plan.
Seniors: FAFSA completion, applying to colleges, scholarship information, uploading the resume and college essay, completing your goals and senior survey
Parents and Guardians have full access to Naviance to see what their student has been working on. Please contact the Student Services Office if you are unable to sign in to your Naviance account: 928-773-8120
ACT Testing and Test Prep
When: March 24th, 2020
Where: Junior Classrooms
Cost: FREE (this test is paid for through a Helios Foundation grant)
Benefits: Requirement for four year university admissions and scholarship money based on scores.
ACT Test Prep:ACT Bootcamp
1.)Aspire Practice Tests /Test Prep Strategies
When: Starting during Advisory second semester
Who: FHS Freshman
Benefits: Preparing them for the ACT and Aspire test. Ability to identify areas of academic strengths and weaknesses.
2.) Pre-ACT Practice Book/Test Prep Strategies
When: Starting during Advisory second semester
Who: FHS Sophomores
Benefits: Preparing them for the ACT next year and Pre-ACT test in the Spring.
3.)Naviance Test Prep/ ACT Books/ACT Videos
When: Starting during Advisory second semester.
Who: FHS Juniors
Benefits: Preparing them for the ACT in March! Access to all Juniors starting NOW on Naviance account. FREE ACT test prep which includes: practice tests and questions, online messaging to ask questions to teachers, flashcards, etc!
ADULTING 101 Classes
Topics include:
*Financial/banking
*Job applications/interviews
*Taxes
*Housing/rentals
*Civic responsibility/selective service
We are excited to help our Seniors prepare for their transition out of High School and successfully navigating the "adult" world.
Scholarship Workshop
Various local and state-wide scholarship representatives will be at FHS to give information about scholarships available as well as assist Seniors in applying for scholarships. Students will be able to visit representatives during their scheduled English period.

K-12 Tutoring by FUSD Certified Teachers. Monday-Thursday 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

3.) Intervention Wednesdays at FHS
FHS has implemented Intervention Wednesdays for all class periods every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Teachers do not teach new material but rather review instruction, allow any retakes for testing and are available for additional support to students. We encourage students to come prepared on those days with any questions they have to work with their teachers.
