From the Desk of Dr. Ricks
Parents and Friends,
Happy Episcopal Schools Celebration Week! GES is proud to be part of such an historic network of excellence in education, and this week we celebrated our church-school partnership. Please review our mission statement with your children...if they recite it to any teacher during the Month of October, they can earn a free dress day pass!
Today, we carried on a wonderful tradition at Grace-- the Blessing of the Animals in honor of St. Francis Day. Many thanks to Father Richard and Father Michael for meeting and blessing our extended "family," and many thanks to you for your generous donations. We collected $132.00. $66.00 will go to the River Cities Humane Society Shelter for kitties, and the other $66.00 will go to the Humane Society Adoption Center for puppies. What an occasion of joyful chaos as we celebrated the love we experience from our pets!
Grace Gators have been representing GES positively in other activities as well. We have had several trips to the Pumpkin Patch, the Fire Station, and the Little Theater. Consistent comments from our hosts have been that our students are well-behaved, smart, interested in what is going on, and welcome back any time!

News from Grace Episcopal Church
Wherever you are on your faith journey….Grace welcomes you!
Revealing the Revelation
Starting on October 15th, Fr. Michael will begin a new Sunday morning bible study class. In this class, “Revealing the Revelation”, we will take an in-depth look at what the last book of the Bible is all about. The book of Revelation is one of the best known and most misunderstood books that makes up our New Testament. Come join us between the services as we learn about Revelation. Fr. Michael will be using a study by Bishop N.T. Wright as a guide, but no material other than your favorite Bible will be necessary for this class.
Second Sundays Today
Children of Grace Church are invited to participate in Second Sundays from 5:00 pm- 6:30 pm, October 8th, in Kilbourne Hall. Children in grades PreK - 4th grade are invited to explore our faith with fun and fellowship. Activities will include crafts, games, and a Christian message. Dinner will also be served! Please join us!
Ladies Fall Celebration/Hurricane Relief Service Project
The women of Grace will hold our quarterly ladies’ convocation celebration and incorporate helping our friends and neighbors who have been affected by the recent storms. We will be taking up a collection to send to Episcopal Relief and Development’s hurricane relief fund. Join us Saturday, October 21st, 11:00am- 1:00pm for chili, soups, salads, cornbread, as well as yummy desserts. There will also be gluten free options. See you then!

I've been married since 11/10/2012 to an amazing women, Julie Griffin Wade. We have a 10 month old son named Landry. My family means everything to me!

Tales of Mount Olympus
7th Grade Greek Day
Every year the 7th graders present a living tableau for the 1-8th grades, "Tales of Mount Olympus". This performance is directed by Mrs. Brenda Foster and corresponds to the 7th grade literature unit on Greek Mythology.
Students make their own costumes and accessories for the four performances given during the annual Greek Day and they are treated to a Greek-inspired feast!
