Monday through Thursday

New,Updated Spelling Ideas! - Here are some new ideas for practicing spelling. Study nightly. Spelling lists are located in Aces Folders

Reading Fluency Pieces and Classroom Books

One Breath Boxes and flashcards. I am sending home flashcards to help with the words on the one breath boxes and also to practice words that students are still having difficulty with from previous lists. Take five minutes each day or night and practice. There are many other ways you can practice sight words with your child that can make practicing more fun and enjoyable for everyone involved. See the link down at the bottom of the page! I will check their words on Thursday and Friday. Students will not do the breath boxes when being checked.

On Monday and Tuesdays the students bring home a reading piece for fluency. Please practice daily and keep the reading piece til Friday. Practice for at least 5 minutes a night. I will listen to the students read on Friday. I will also send home short reads to practice for the next day. Practice these and return to school for a one minute fluency check.

Reading aloud to your child is lots of fun and very important in the development of reading and fostering love for reading.

Students are welcome to bring home my class library books.
