A Note from the Principal

As the 2018 school year comes to a close I would like to acknowledge the amazing staff at Healesville Primary, our outstanding students and our wonderful parents and families.

This year we have achieved fantastic results across all areas of our school and we will work hard in 2019 to continue to improve and develop the learning outcomes for all students. Next year our focus will be Literacy – particularly Reading. We have been fortunate to access the Teaching Partners – Differentiated Support for School Improvement – Literacy program. This program gives us access to two Leading Teachers for 2 days per fortnight for the year to work alongside our staff in developing literacy for all students.

The teachers are beginning to finalise reports and getting them ready to be handed out on the last day of the year. Thank you to all our fabulous teachers for the dedication they show to the students of Healesville Primary School. This time of the year is a time to celebrate the year that we have had but also a time to start to think about the year to come. Students are currently participating in the grade to grade transition program where they spend time in the year above. This allows students to become familiar with the 2019 class setting and with the students around them. Next week students will know the grade they are in and their teacher for 2019.

School Captains Announcement

We are proud to announce that Scarlett T and Oscar M will be our School Captains for 2019. I am sure that Scarlett and Oscar will be exceptional captains and role models for our community. I would however like to congratulate all of the students who applied for these roles. They took a risk in doing so and demonstrated good grace when they were unfortunately unsuccessful. I am proud of each and every student who partook in this process.

I would also like to thank our current School Captains, Mia and Riley for their leadership throughout 2018, you have been amazing.

Last Day of Term – Friday 21 December will be our last day of the school year where we will farewell our Graduating Year 6 students. At 1.20pm we will have the Year 6 students walk through the guard of honour with their buddies.

Free Dress Day - Friday will be a Free Dress day

Over the holidays, I am looking forward to spending time with Karen, Alex and Ben at home and at Phillip Island. Whatever you may be doing over summer, please stay safe, enjoy time with your family and friends and have a joyous Christmas.
