What is a Makerspace?

Makerspaces are creative spaces where students can gather to create, invent, and learn. These spaces are also helping to prepare those who need the critical 21st century skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). They provide hands on learning, help with critical thinking skills and even boost self-confidence.

STEM Challenge

The STEM design process involves planning, creating, reflecting, and redesigning to ultimately create a product to solve a problem or create a product that meets particular criteria. STEM encourages students to think critically, use their creativity, and collaborate with others. Bryan Elementary is excited to offer a STEM challenge opportunity each month for students in ALL grade levels. We encourage you to collaborate with your child to complete one or more of the challenges. Please take a picture of your finished projects by October 31st and send to The pictures you send will be displayed throughout our building! If you are unable to send a picture we encourage students to bring in their completed projects and we will get that picture taken and displayed for you.
