e-Learning
Please be advised that you are receiving two e-mails from me. This is not a mistake, as one is the agenda for the e-Learning Day on Tuesday.
World Cup Stacking Day
Our students participated in World Cup Stacking Day on Thursday. They are continuing these skills in P.E. class, and I am always amazed by their skills with this. Be sure to ask your child about some of the fun stations they visited on this day.
Next Week's Share Topic
Family Traditions: What is your favorite family tradition? The tradition might be focused on a holiday, but it doesn’t have to be. Is there something special that you do? Is there a special time that you do it? How does your family get ready for it? Maybe you would like to draw a picture to tell about your traditions. You could also make a book about it. As always, just make sure you have prepared. A 20-30 second "talk" does not show that you have prepared to the level that we expect with these share topic assignments.
Math: Place Value Hospital
In math students have done an excellent job with number sense...especially with regard to place value. Our culminating activity was collaborating as surgeons at the Place Value Hospital. Here, students visited the following stations at the hospital:
- Number Surgery - changing expanded form to standard form
- Symptom Checker - naming numbers based on place value clues
- Mixed Up X-Rays - identifying numbers using base ten blocks
- Pharmacy Sort - sorting by greater than, less than, and equal to.
