Black codes
Some states deied property or access to skilled trade jobs to blacks. Some codes would not let blacks intermarry, others wouldnt let them serve on juries, and some even said that if you work for someone, you must get his permission to quit the job. These codes were just like slavery. Black codes took place between 1860-1970. Black codes basically stated the the white and black had to be seperated. Seperate drinking fountains, bathrooms, scools etc. for the blacks.
