Highlights from last week!
Last week in math we continued practicing our multiplication facts. The various ways we practice are with a visual skip counting number line, songs, and listening practice, as well as many games to help solidify the facts. We also looked more in-depth at the difference between division and subtraction word problems, and discussed the relationship between them. Knowing the "fact families" will be a helpful foundation as students commit these to memory.
In writing we are "flipping" our research questions to turn them into sub-headings for our informational writing. The sub-headings will help keep our writing organized, and aid in the understanding of main idea and details.
We had an opportunity to video chat with an Astro-biologist from San Francisco via Nepris last Friday! Mrs. Humphries' class joined us as we learned about what makes the planets so unique, recent NASA explorations, and other facts about our solar system!
