Irmo Elementary Family Updates
#HeartoftheHive November 29-December 3
A Note From Your Principal
Dear IES Families,
I hope you each have had a wonderful Thanksgiving break with your families. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your "secret" help to provide letters to staff. We know the BIG heart that each of our staff family members show for this work that matters so much daily. We truly love our bees and our families. Please review the updated mitigation level information below as our district has changed from green to yellow. This will take us through December 3rd. I will continue to keep you updated as to what this means for IES as information is shared. This week we will begin celebrating our November Students of the Month. While we enjoyed our time with family so much, we are just as excited to see our BEEs!

Mitigation Level Update
Click HERE to see the D5 Covid-19 Dashboard. Shaded colors on the chart reflect the mitigation levels for the next week (Nov 29 - Dec 3).
What does this mean for IES?
Level Two protocols in place, with the following additions/changes:
- Utilize a consistent seating arrangement/charts
- Visitors limited to front office areas (unless prior approval for medical or educational purpose)
- Field trips suspended
- Quarantine students at 3 feet or closer proximity (if a cluster occurs, stricter quarantine may be required).
Celebration of our Fall USC Interns...this is not goodbye because "once a bee, you're always a bee at IES"
Important Car Rider Information
Thank you for your help with the car line! Here are a few reminders to help with the process.
- Thank you for having your student(s) ready to exit the cars and for exiting beginning at the tower! This really speeds up our line in the morning!
- Merge or zipper the two lines together after passing the teacher parking entrance but before passing the top gate.
- Please remember no left turns are allowed when exiting the car line.
Afternoon Car Line
- For safety reasons, you must have your car tag ( not a picture) to pick up your student(s).
- Please remember no left turns are allowed when exiting the car line.
Notes from the Nurse
Please note the the district school nurses will not be contact tracing over the school break. Continue to monitor daily for any signs or symptoms of illness with your student(s). Report positive Covid results or symptoms to mnobles@lexrich5.org and follow up will occur on Monday, November 29th.
I hope you all have a fun and safe Thanksgiving Break.
