Science
APES: We are now just 2 school weeks away from the AP Final Exam (May 6). We will finish up next week (April 23-27) with a quiz covering the last four chapters (22, 23, 24 and 25). The first week of May will be a review for the exam. We will also have an APES review session on Saturday May 4th.
Chem Honors: We will be finishing Unit 10 up with a test scheduled for April 27.
Biology Honors: We will be covering 6 Kingdom notes on April 23 and then moving on to Ecology & Animal Behavior later in the week. We will look to test on these topics along with Natural Selection the first week of May. Students have an EOC Review packet for the Biology EOC they should be working on. It will count as a test grade for this six weeks.
Social Studies
APWH: Students have done an outstanding job with their presentations! Students have been given review materials to begin our preparations for the AP EXAM on May 16. Crash Course videos and Chapter 29 & 30 work are due Tuesday 4/23.
AH-1: We will complete unit 7/Civil War after Spring Break. We finished the week by viewing the movie “Lincoln” to examine the Civil War from his perspective and the passage of the 13th Amendment before his untimely death.
Civics and Econ Honors: Students learned how supply, demand, money, and the factors of production all play a part in the circular flow of economic activity. We began our major economic project/simulation on Friday. Students took out loans and bid for resources that they will have to turn around and make a profit in our Economic Market. They cannot use outside resources and they must make a profit! Our market simulation will be on April 26th!
The only work that has been assigned over break is to study for the final exam. Final exam resources have been posted on Teams. Please encourage your students to study a little bit each night, rather than cramming at the end of the course. The North Carolina Final Exam is worth 25% of their grade!
