Core Classes Updates - October
English Language Arts (ELA)- Ms. Appelquist
Happy Fall! This month, we are beginning our Science and Science Fiction Unit with the novel Frankenstein. They will answer difficult, philosophical questions like, how much power should scientists have? Is it ever okay to seek revenge? And, what is the responsibility of a creator to its creation? Students will end the unit in November with a rigorous test and essay on those essential questions. They will also be learning more about spelling, grammar, and vocabulary.
Math - Ms. Schneid
Hello! Our 8th graders are hitting the ground running in math this month. We are learning about A squared plus B squared = C squared, otherwise known as the pythagorean theorem. They will continue to work on logic and equations as they dive into word problems that will equip them with the skills to be excellent future problem-solvers.
Science/Social Studies- Mr. Proctor
Happy October! I will continue to teach students about the early days of America this month. They will learn through reading, watching videos, and listening to important media on the beginning of our nation. They often complete daily packets in my class, so please ask your student to share what they learned from their packets and class that day!
