Grizz Pageant 2019
Grizz Pageant a Huge Success!
Grizz Pageant is one of our biggest fundraisers and events of the year, raising money for Children's Miracle Network and Asante's NICU center in Medford.
With group fundraisers, contestants individually fundraising, donations, ticket sales at the door, and concessions, our 8 Grizz Contestants raised.......................... $5,680.68!!!
We have two winners of the pageant, although they are all winners in our eyes!
Anna Gutrich (9th grade) won "Most Money Raised" with a grand total of $1159.31! Because she raised over $1000, Asante is awarding her with an engraved brick outside of Asante Medical Center!
The winner of the pageant, based on stage presence, day in the life video, their talent, and "When I Grow Up" skit, is junior Sequoia Jacobson!!!
Congrats to our awesome students on a successful pageant!

Senior Projects Presentations--May 1 Early Release for 9th and 10th Grade
Spring Presentations will be held on Wednesday, May 1st.
Senior Projects are an important opportunity for AHS Seniors to explore subjects and interests in ways that challenge them and encourage them to go above and beyond anything they have done before. Senior Projects also teach students the importance of giving back to their community and sharing their knowledge and experiences with a wider audience. These projects are shared in a formal presentation setting where students have a chance to discuss not only what they accomplished but also their journey over the last four years of high school.
Full handbook is available on the AHS website: http://www.ashland.k12.or.us/Page.asp?NavID=2205

All members of the community are encouraged to participate in this survey, which can be found on the department’s webpage, as well as at the website wwww.ashlandpd.com. Hard copies of the survey can also be picked up and turned in at the police department located at 1155 E. Main Street.

Ashland Schools Foundation
2019 PHONE BANK
FAST FACTS and FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
§ What? Phone Bank for Ashland Schools Foundation’s 30th Annual Fund Drive
§ When is it – When are the dedicated school nights (the nights each school works to get their volunteers at the phone drive)?
- April 15 (Mon) – Bellview, Helman, Walker
- April 17 (Wed) – Bellview, Helman, Walker
- April 23 (Tues) – AHS & John Muir
- April 25 (Thurs) – AMS & Willow Wind CLC
§ Where is it? The Windsor Inn (across I-5 on the right)
§ What is the time schedule?
- 6:00 – 6:10 pm… Check-in, eat dinner donated by local restaurants, chat with other volunteers.
- 6:10 – 6:30 pm… Training while you eat.
- 6:30 – 8:30 pm… Call parents and previous donors.
§ Who will I be calling? If you come on your dedicated school night we will try to have you call other parents from your school who may or may not already be donors to ASF. If you are calling on another night you may be calling either parents from other schools or community members who are already ASF donors.
§ If I have my own cell phone, can I use it? We hope you will! We have been fortunate to have the sponsorship of Verizon, who will be able to loan us some cell phones – but it will not be enough for all callers. We will need to rely on some volunteers using their own phone.
§ I can’t come on my dedicated school night, but am still interested in helping. That’s great. Sign up for any night that fits your schedule.
§ Is there babysitting available? No. We have supplied babysitting options in past years, but have had such little usage that we no longer offer babysitting.
§ I’ve never done this before and am uncomfortable asking people for money! Don’t worry – everyone feels that way at first. You’ll get help with what to say and how to say it. You’ll be surprised at how supportive our community is for the education of our children. Encourage a friend to sign up to volunteer with you – there’s strength in numbers – and you can practice on each other before you begin. The first phone call can be scary, but that first donation makes you feel incredibly good. By the time you leave you’ll be surprised at how much fun you’ve had and will feel great about making a real difference in the Ashland schools.
All volunteers are eligible for prize drawings!
