Teacher Awarded $1,000 Through Bright Ideas Program

Santee Electric Cooperative accepts applications yearly for Bright Ideas, a grant program to provide funding for innovative classroom-based education: https://www.santee.org/bright-ideas.


Lindsey Bibler, a Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus teacher at South Florence High School, received a Bright Ideas Grant grant of $1,000 to purchase a set of twelve 3-D pens to use in the AP Calculus class. Dr. Hill is Published Author

Dr. Carol Hill has recently published in the national publication, Coalition on Adult Basic Education Journal (COABE Volume II, Issue 2), Fall 2022.


The article titled, Mid and Post COVID-19 Student Hopes for Adult Basic Education, is a study whose surveys and one-on-one surveys which were created and implemented helped students and the system to become more adaptive during volatile times.

Students Selected to Perform with the All-Region Orchestra

Eight Florence 1 students performed with the All-Region Orchestra held this past weekend at Myrtle Beach High School.

Advanced Football Playoff Rounds

The South Florence Bruins will host the James Island Trojans (Charleston); the West Florence Knights will travel to AC Flora (Columbia) to face the Falcons.

Puffs: A Drama Production at South Florence High School

South Florence Dramatic Arts students will present Puffs, November 19th and 20th. Tickets are $5 per person. The performance will be held in the South Florence High School auditorium. Tickets are also available online at:
