Many colonist experienced a great awakening in their lives. It began in the 1730's and ended in the 1740's. A widespread Christian movement that involved sermons and emphasized faith in God. This changed the colonial people religion and their social and political life. Jonathan Edwards urged sinners to seek forgiveness.
