2. Eat a good breakfast at home or school so your body and brain have plenty of fuel!
3. Be on time so you don't feel rushed or worried and you are here for all the important directions.
4. Please leave cell phones, smart watches, or similar devices at home, and if you need to bring them, know that they will be collected prior to testing and returned once testing is complete.

Teacher Requests for 2019 - 2020
We are beginning to plan for next school year. Soon we will begin building classes, and about this time of the year, we begin to hear from parents who want to request a specific teacher for their child for next year. They want “the best teacher” for their child based on what they’ve seen and heard.
We visit classrooms almost everyday for the purpose of observing teachers teaching and students learning and would have difficulty identifying "the best teacher" because there is no one teacher who is the best in everything. Teaching is made up of hundreds of skills, and no one teacher is the best at all of them.
When we assemble classes, we do so with the teachers and we make heterogeneous groups. We consider many factors such as:
- each child's academic achievement
- the quality of the student’s citizenship
- work and study habits
- discipline concerns
- if the child is a leader or follower
- how the child's personality will fit in with the others in the class
- boy-girl ratio
The key ingredient in this process is trust. We ask that you trust us to make the best placement possible with all the information at our disposal. We will do the best job of placement that we can because it is important to us that every child has the best opportunity for success. If you feel you need to give input on the the kind of classroom environment that will best suit your child, you are welcome to do so by providing us, in writing, the characteristics of the environment in which you feel your child will thrive. We will not accept requests for specific teachers – only requests for specific “teacher qualities.” All letters must be received in the office by Tuesday, April 30th in order to be considered in this process.
We appreciate your trust and support.
