Please remember that Monday begins the start of the 2nd quarter. It is a chance to start a clean slate for all. Please be sure to start off on the right foot by looking at your Google Classrooms Sunday evening so that you are ready to go if you have a new class/rotation. We got this SMS!

BELIEVE-OTIS SPUNKMEYER FUNDRAISER

PLEASE HELP US REACH OUR GOAL- OUR STUDENTS THANK YOU! If you did not receive the fundraising packet, you may come to the front of the office to pick one up we will have them available. They are not needed however as all is available online and no paper order forms are being used.

As of 9:15pm on Thursday, October 15th we have raised $921 our of the $15,000 goal. Please share with your friends and family. You may post on your social media page if you would like to share with friends and families online. Thank you in advance for helping us raise money in a time we need it most!

ELAC- First meeting on October 30th at 8:00 am!

JOIN OUR ELAC

What is ELAC?

English Learner Advisory Committee. ELAC provides parents of English learners a place to exercise their right and collaborate with other school site parents and staff. The main purpose of ELAC is to advise the school on:

1. The school’s program for English Learners

2. The development of the Single School Plan for student achievement

3. The school’s annual language census

4. Efforts on the importance of daily school attendance for academic success

Who can be an ELAC member?

ELAC meetings are open to the public. The percentage of parents of English learners on the committee must be at least the same as that of ELs at the school. Membership includes parents, staff, and community members. All parents of EL students are encouraged to participate.

Duties?

  • The ELAC must elect a representative to the DELAC (District English Learner Advisory Committee)
  • Meet virtually Monthly

Some students will have a change in their schedules due to Elective changes (6th grade rotations is an example of this). You and your student will be able to see if they will have any changes to their schedule. You may call the office for your verification code which is needed to create your Parent Portal Homelink account.

Note* If you have a Smartphone, you can download the free Aeries App (see image to the right for how to identify it in the App Store) and you will be able to quickly check for your child's progress at the touch of a button on your phone.

Intradistrict Transfers and Unassigned Area Application Information- from District office...

Intradistrict Transfers 2021-2022

Intradistrict transfer for students that will be in 6th -12th grades for the 2021-2022 school year will be available from October 15, 2020 - November 15, 2020. Online applications and more details will be available at mdusd.org/transfers. Informational tear-off pads will be sent to sites when we receive them.


“Unassigned Area” Applications 2021-2022

The “Unassigned Area” application for the 2021-2022 school year will be available beginning on October 15, 2020. The online application, along with more information on the process is available at mdusd.org/unassignedarea.

Translation Services

Bertha Sandoval, our Noon Supervisor, will be supporting us in translating and reaching out to Spanish-speaking families Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 10:30AM. Her extension is 5619.
