Welcome New Staff to the Glidden Campus

Glidden Campus Summer Work

We continue to prepare for the quickly approaching school year. Despite several challenges and last-minute changes, we will continue to work our hardest to start the year providing students at the Glidden Campus with a great start to the school year. A huge shoutout to the Glidden Campus Maintenance and Custodial Staff. Our school looks fantastic and as we welcome 6th graders this evening (Wednesday, August 21, 2019) the facilities at the Glidden Campus are ready to show them what their school day will "look" like.

Watching the Garden Grow...

The GCLC summer school programming worked hard to sustain a school garden under the supervision and green thumb of Mrs. Lori Deitz.

6th Grade Orientation

Wednesday, August 21st was an exciting night for our 6th graders and families who attended the annual 6th-grade orientation at the Glidden Campus. This event is organized each year in order to support our 6th-grade students in the transition from elementary to middle school. It is my personal pleasure to meet and shake the hand of each new middle schooler at this event. They are so excited about the prospects of a new school, new opportunities, and new adventures! At orientation, students received their class schedules and were able to practice opening their combination lock on their lockers. A surprise treat was their reward once they experienced success with their locker. New 6th grade students were assisted by their teachers who were also present at the orientation to meet students and families, help with locker combination practice, and show students around. A shuttle bus was organized for this event as well, but many families choose to drive themselves.

Infinite Campus Online Registration

We are starting off the school year with online student registration using Infinite Campus our Student Information System. This is a new endeavor for the district and our administrative assistants have really worked hard to get this system up and running. As with any new system, it isn't without its initial struggles, but it will soon be the norm! Using this system helps families enter their information directly and cutting out the middle man as we used data entry to input the handwritten forms. The process is also streamlined in that families or households can complete the process for all students at one time, saving them the need to fill out repeated forms for each school that their child attends within the district. Chromebooks and assistants are available at the school offices for people who would like support. Otherwise, the entire process including permission forms can be completed from the comfort of the family's own home!

Seclusion & Restraint

The Chequamegon Middle School and the Glidden Elementary School had no events of seclusion and restraint for the 2018-2019 school year.
