Nathaniel Bacon


The Bacon Rebellion

Born January 15, 1647. He lead a rebellion that started with high taxes, low tobacco prices, and resentment of special privileges given to those close to the Jamestown governor. He also lead campaigns against Native Americans. When he threatened to take the governors place the governor proclaimed him and his men as traitors. After a while the governor had to flee back to England.
