About the Workshop:
Come to this hands-on workshop to learn new ways to use iPads with your students to transform your classroom with personalize student learning. We will spend the morning exploring iPad apps you can use in your K-6 classroom for student centered learning projects and activities. In the afternoon, we will look at the wide variety of iPad apps that can be used for formative assessments on the fly or created ahead of time. Walk away with your own interactive learning menu that you can use in your classroom right away!
***Participants should come with an iPad to the workshop. A list of apps will be provided for participants to install prior to the workshop***
Outcomes:
As a result of attending, participants will:
- Understand effective ways to use BookCreator App on the iPad to support 21st Century Skills in K-12 classrooms in any subject area
- Develop strategies for using iPad apps to transform teaching and personalize learning
- Learn how to utilize digital tools and apps for formative assessment success
- Have a comprehensive list of apps for promoting voice and choice in the 21st Century student centered classroom

9:15-12:00 Using iPad apps to Transform Your Classroom into a Personalized Learning Environment
In this hands-on session participants will learn to use a variety of iPad apps that can be used to give your students voice and choice in the classroom.12:00-12:30 Lunch at SERESC
12:30-2:45 Creating Formative Assessments on the iPad to Personalize Learning
Explore the wide variety of formative assessment tools on the iPad that can be used to transform your teaching and gather formative data on your students.
2:45-3:15 Sharing and Collaboration
Participants will create and share their own interactive learning menus to use in the own classrooms using the tools they explored during this workshop.

About the Presenter
Liz is an experienced educator with over twenty years of teaching experience. She began her career as a Special Educator in Boston, MA where she worked with middle and high school students with behavioral, emotional and learning challenges. Throughout her career Liz has served as a Classroom Teacher, a Special Educator/ Learning Specialist and Computer Educator. She has experience working in rural, suburban and inner city schools and has worked with students in grades K-12. She has also worked as a technology trainer for the Nashua School District where she led district wide professional development activities for teachers K-12 and helped teachers integrate technology into their curriculum. Liz is currently a Digital Learning Specialist in Westford, MA where she works in a coaching role with K-2 teachers and students. She holds an M.Ed. in Educational Technology from Emmanuel College and is certified in both Elementary and Special Education.
