Panther Post
End of year 2018-2019
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
I would like to thank everyone for a great year and for all of your support.
One last bit of great news to end the year:
Our faculty vs the 8th grade basketball team raised $2,245 for the McKinney Project, who uses the money to help homeless students. We presented the check to them this week! (picture below). Thank you Coach Pena and Coach Barganier for organizing it.
It is now time to review all that happened this year and adjust and plan for the next. See you again August 19!
Thank you,
Eric Wernli

LOPEZ PANTHERS LEAD, SERVE AND INSPIRE
Lopez families. If your child did not complete or do the student survey for lead during their flex class period please have them take the survey at home. This is approximately 20 min. (no identifying information will be requested or collected) that will be confidentially administered by your child. Students will privately answer questions about their attitudes and behaviors on their phones or device provided for them. They will be able to skip questions and stop at any time they choose. Ask the students to please answer the questions honestly as the information collected will be used to implement Leadership on our campus.

Parents/Guardians
Celebration! Lopez MS is the 1st Leader in Me Lighthouse Middle School in Texas! Leader in Me teaches 21st century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. During the months of April/May our school will be conducting surveys to learn more about key areas of strength and areas of needed growth in our school. The data from these surveys will also help us track the impacts of The Leader in Me process and implement key practices more fully. In order for us to have a holistic picture of what is going on in our school we are asking all full-time staff members, parents/guardians, and students to participate.
If you decide participate, you will be asked to complete a survey (without sharing your name or other identifying information) that will be available through a web link . The survey is completely voluntary, but we do hope to get feedback from one member of every household. The parent/guardian survey takes about 12 minutes to complete and will ask questions about your child and about his/her experience in our school. If you have more than one child attending the school, you will be asked to think about the oldest child’s experiences as you answer questions related to their growth.
