We need your Feedback!

This school year, parents have expressed interest in learning more about computer and screen time concerns with early adolescent children. The Greene School PTO is working on a series that we feel will meet the needs we have heard.

We would love to plan this for the community, but recognize that it would take time and money to present these topics. The purpose of this form is to see if there is a desire from the Greene School Community to attend these events.

Here is the plan! We are working on a three part series. The first week we would view Screen Agers and then hold discussion groups for parents. The second week we would invite social medial guru, Stephen Smith, to the Greene School to talk to parents about internet safety. The third week our tech department would lead a training for parents to be able to control the off campus filter for student devices. All of the events would take place at the Greene School. Rather than charge admission, we would like to request a donation of canned goods or school supplies for Operation Give Back.

Here are the dates we would like to do this:

Screen Agers - April 2 at 6:00 pm

Stephen Smith - April 9 at 6:00 pm

Internet Filter Training - April 16 at 6:00 pm

January PTO Meeting

PBIS

This time of year can be wonderful and fun, but can also be hectic and chaotic! Reminders about those Aviator Expectations can be helpful. Part of our hope with our PBIS program is that it extends to the home and to the community. While you are out at social events, holiday shopping and running errands, those Aviator Expectation can help guide your children to appropriate behavior. On the way to the mall, talk about how to be safe. On the way to a relative’s house for a party, talk about the expectations for being respectful. When siblings are playing with all of those new toys and games, talk about how to be a problem solver. Even though it is a fun time of year, there are still behavior expectations and rules to follow. You are an Aviator, no matter where you go, and everyone expects you to be safe, be responsible, be respectful and be a problem solver! We hope you and family have a wonderful holiday season and a restful break!

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION

Our Winter collection is coming up soon (January 21-25). Please remember to clip and save Box Tops while cooking and baking this holiday season! The winter break is also a great time to check in with family or friends who may also be saving box tops for E.H. Greene students. Thank you!

Greene Has a Therapy Dog

Fritzie is a certified and insured therapy dog who is visiting Greene for an hour every other week. Her owner is Ms. Peggy Schmidt, a former teacher at Blue Ash and Montgomery Elementaries. In addition to Greene, Fritzie does therapy work at a children's home (St. Joseph's) and a hospital (Jewish). Fritzie is working with students who would benefit from some special time due to encountering a tough situation at school, home, etc. If you have any questions or concerns about Fritzie and the use of a therapy dog at Greene, please reach out to the building administrators.
