Hello Hollymead!

We are so excited to be kicking off another year. Although things still aren’t exactly back to “normal,” we’re grateful to all of the teachers, staff, families, and students who are already banding together to make this year great!

The fall has historically been a busy time for the PTO as we organize events for the Hollymead community. This year, we will be rearranging and/or reimagining several events so that we can hold them safely (either as virtual/outdoor events or in the spring, when in-person events will hopefully feel a little safer). That said, we still plan to be quite busy this fall, and we invite you to join our first PTO meeting on September 15th at 7:30 PM so you can hear all about the activities we will be supporting over the next few months! Our first meeting will be held over Zoom.

Whether you’re able to join us on Wednesday or not, please know that we are always looking for volunteers to help us throughout the year. Some of our upcoming opportunities for volunteering include helping to create the Hollymead Directory, helping with yearbook compilation and design, and volunteering for our (spring!) book fair. If you’re interested in learning more about opportunities to help support Hollymead teachers, staff, and students, please either fill out this form or email hollymeadptovolunteer@gmail.com.

Hopefully we see many of you at our meeting this week. Please join us by clicking on this link. Until then…

Support the PTO While You Shop!

The easiest way to support the PTO is to link your grocery cards and AmazonSmile accounts. The PTO earned $120 over the summer thanks to your support on AmazonSmile! Be sure to re-link your grocery cards every year. These simple things, with next to zero effort, can bring big cash for our students, staff, and classrooms.

How to Help

  • Register for Amazon Smile
  • Re-link your grocery cards (Kroger: Hollymead ID# 80574, and Harris Teeter: Hollymead ID# 5899). These must be updated every year.

Join the PTO

The Hollymead PTO Board is a fun group of family members who gather monthly to plan exciting activities for students and ways to support teachers and staff. Can you join us?

Board Positions Available:

  • Co-Vice Presidents

Non-Board Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Book Fair Coordinator
  • Yearbook Coordinator
  • Directory Coordinator

While most positions are a 2 year commitment, you have a co-chair to assist you. Non-Board Volunteers are not required to attend the monthly meetings and are only active during limited times of the year.

Learn more about the positions of the board and contact HollymeadPTOVolunteer@gmail.com with questions.

All the best,

Crystal Pariseau, Meagan Gregory, Kate DeLuca, Sara Harrison, Shannon Hofer, Marion Hight, Vanitha Perumal, Sarah Wilson, and Sindhu Ramesh
