Reading Connection
Library Book Checkout
Each class participates in book checkouts weekly. EC and kindergarten students checkout one book each week, first-graders check out two books weekly, and second-graders check out three books each week. Please note your child's/children's weekly book checkout day/s, in order to support your child in returning library books on time, so that all children can enjoy the library's offerings. Thank you for your support! You can support your child by checking that their books are ready to be returned to school the night before. A great way to make sure books get back to school is to keep them in your child's backpack whenever they are not being read. Thank you for your support in keeping the books circulating and allowing children to get their hands on books they've been waiting to read!
Preschool & Kindergarten Game Night
Come play at the Sprague playground and hardtop! Family members of all ages are welcome, so please feel free to bring siblings, grandparents, or anyone else in your family. This is an opportunity to meet other parents from your student’s class and grade! To keep the event safe and fun for everyone, please do not bring snacks. Pizza and bottled water will be provided. Please respond to the Game Night Google form to show your interest in attending the event.
School Reminders
- Vision and hearing screenings are provided by the school annually. Please read about the screenings at Sprague.
- If you are dropping off your student(s) in the morning, please remember that cars are not allowed to enter the front drive. Please read up where to drop off children in the morning.
- Parents/guardians need to make every effort to have their student(s) at school on time for the start of our day at 8:05 a.m. (first bell). For more on school start times, please read the Start Time Reminder bulletin.
- Parents must submit forms to the school nurse each year for any medications their child requires while at school. For more about medications at school, please read the Medications on File bulletin.
Shoebox Project
Parents, please hold onto your adult shoeboxes for an upcoming Operation Shoebox Packing Project. The second-grade team plans to fill them with school supplies, toiletries, socks, and small toys or stuffed animals. We will collect them in late September or early October. For details on what to collect, please read the Sprague News article on Shoeboxes.
How Social Media Impacts Our Children's Lives
