MRS. DETTMER'S NOTES
The first full week is complete! It was AMAZING! I love that I have the pleasure of walking through the building each day to see the students and work being done. All classes were working within the curriculum this week and beginning to set goals.
We have a lot of exciting things headed our way for this school year. You will soon begin receiving information about a few events.

Tobacco Policy
In accordance with state law, youth are prohibited from possessing tobacco and tobacco products. Local law enforcement and the Bartholomew County prosecutor have empowered the school SRO’s to issue citations if BCSC youth are found in possession of tobacco or tobacco devices (electronic vaping devices).
Walk-a-thon
The walk-a-thon money is used to help purchase playground equipment such as basketballs, hula hoops, jump ropes, etc. New equipment is on its way for this school year. We are excited to get these outside for the kids to enjoy! We are also looking at the cost involved in purchasing new basketball goals for outside. This will be a long term goal to put some of the walk-a-thon money towards. Money is also used to lower the cost of field trip transportation, classroom supplies for additional materials, books for the library, and the AR store.
We shared prizes with students. I have attached the presentation below for you to view if you are interested in the accumulating prizes available for this school year. The field trip opportunity is Cosmic Bowling. The kids loved this trip a couple of years ago and we thought we would revisit this trip!
Please note one change on the envelope - The $75 prize is a "Rockin' the Bulldog Life" Tumbler. The word Tumbler was left off of the envelope.
