Starting (September 11, 2023), we will issue consequences for those who are not following the school rules and wearing their student ID on their lanyards while in the building.

• Please know that this is a safety issue for the school. If your child should need medical assistance outside of their classroom, the student ID helps us get valuable medical information to render aid. If all students are wearing their IDs, we can immediately spot an intruder in the building. Finally, IDs will continue to be important as the SGC discusses possible off-campus privileges for our seniors.
• Parents, please make sure your child is wearing their ID every morning. Please help us to keep the building and our students, staff, and teachers safe.
• Administrators will begin random checks in the hallways and begin issuing detention for those who are not wearing their IDs (Rule 7aI in the Discipline Code – Failure to Follow Rules).
• Students who have lost their ID are not immune to discipline and should go to the front office to request a replacement.

The District has moved the date they will review all Vaccine Verification forms for our school. If you have not already done so, please submit your 11th-grade student's Vaccine Verifications (Immunization form 3231), stating your student has received one meningococcal conjugate vaccine booster, as required by the Georgia Department of Human Resources, by Friday, October 6. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have questions, please email CAMHSimmunization@fultonschools.org.

If we do not receive this form, your child will be at risk of withdrawal from Cambridge High School. You may get this vaccine through your pediatrician, family physician, local urgent care center, or the North Fulton Department of Health. In addition, many local pharmacies and grocery store pharmacies offer this vaccine. The required documentation (Immunization Form 3231) may be emailed to CAMHSImmunization@fultonschools.org

Cambridge will administer the PSAT 8/9 to all 9th and 10th-grade students and the PSAT/NMSQT to 11th-grade students on Thursday, October 12, 2023. 12th-grade students will not report to school on Thursday, October 12, and will participate in the asynchronous day. Seniors are encouraged to use this day for college visits, completing make-up work, or working on college applications. Please read the following information and the referenced materials for details regarding the PSAT 8/9 and PSAT/NMSQT.

The PSAT is completely digital this year. In order to take the test, students must have a Fulton County Schools-issued device. Students are not allowed to take the PSAT on a personal device. Please have your student check one out immediately if they need this device.

The Saturn app is an application available as a mobile app on iOS devices. The purpose of the Saturn app (as described by the developers) is to provide high school students with a social utility that gives control over their schedules, activities, and connections. This app has gained recent attention in the press. The issue has been raised that almost anyone can create an account and use it to gain access and easily exploit the following items shared by students:

• student names
• account photos
• class times and teachers
• links to Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and Venmo accounts
• the ability to send private messages

Requesting Transcripts - Clarification

For students applying to colleges through Common App, the student's counselor will upload their transcript into Common App. Students must add their counselor in the "Recommender Section" as - counselor and provide a correct email. Scriborder is not used for Common App.

Scriborder is used when requesting transcripts for colleges that are not part of Common App, or sending transcripts to NCAA. Students should see their counselor if they have questions or need assistance. View Transcript Requests for more information.

Senior Tasks - Note Deadlines

1. Senior Biography Sheet - Due September 15

All seniors applying to college are required to complete the "Senior Biography Sheet" to give to their recommenders (counselors and teachers). This information is helpful in writing a letter of recommendation or filling out a college form.

2. Unweighted Transcript Request Form - Due September 15

Seniors who want an unweighted transcript sent to a college must complete the "Transcript Request Choice Declaration for Unweighted Transcript" form and submit it to their counselor by the September 15 deadline. For information and to download the form, visit Transcript Request.

Note: Cambridge Counseling cannot comment or advise on different colleges' policies regarding weighted versus unweighted transcripts. Please contact each college with questions.

3. Optional Parent Response Form - Due September 15

Parents can choose to complete this form to help recommenders write letters and to fill out college forms. Completed forms can be submitted to the senior's counselor via email, or a hard copy can be left at the Bridge West Front Office. Download a copy of the Parent Response Form.

Dual Enrollment students seeking accommodations at the college they are enrolling at must contact the Office of Student Services or the Office of Disability Services regarding accommodations. IEPs and 504’s do not transfer to college.

Applerouth Tutoring is offering face-to-face SAT Prep classes at Cambridge High School. The class includes 20 hours of group tutoring and three mock tests. The course runs from August 26 through November 1, 2023. Seats are limited!

High school seniors who meet all program qualifications, as outlined by the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, may complete the nomination application. The 2024 U.S. Senate Youth Program application window closes on September 29, 2023, at 5:00 pm. High school juniors or seniors may apply provided they meet all program qualifications as outlined by the U.S. Senate Youth Program. The application, program criteria, and informational brochures are found at the U.S. Senate Youth Program.

We are always looking for ways to build culture at CHS, and this year, we want to more frequently recognize students and staff who epitomize Be the B.R.I.D.G.E. We would like to reward these students and staff for their continuous hard work through donated gift cards. So, we are asking if your family is able and willing to pitch in a small gift card between 5-20 dollars; we could really make a few students’ and teachers’ day. Have your student bring gift cards of small denominations to the Bridge East Front Office.

Starbucks, Target, Amazon, Publix, Dunkin Donuts, and local restaurants are all surefire ways to make someone’s day but feel free to clean out that kitchen catch-all drawer.
