A Little Friendly Competion For a Great Cause
Dear Parents:
All of us at Clear Creek Elementary are extremely excited to announce that we have once again teamed up with the Leukemia & Lymphoma society to participate in the Pennies for Patients program. The program will run from January 11th through January 29th.
This is a fantastic community service project for our students, and the Pennies for Patients program is not only to raise money for research and patient services, but also to teach children about cancer, philanthropy and team work. By pooling pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters, our school will help in the fight against childhood leukemia, which is the number one cancer killer of children. Children helping children is what makes the Pennies for Patients program so unique.
Be looking for an information sheet and an individual collection box that will be sent home with your student in their Friday folder. We had a kick off assembly on December 3rd and each teacher will be provided with posters and educational information to share with your students.
We will also be having some friendly competition between each of the classes and the grades with some wonderful prizes for those classes that raise the most money by collecting pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. While there will be winners, there won’t be any losers as we will all be able to make a difference in the lives of other children.
We hope that every student will have a lot of fun while learning about Leukemia & Lymphoma, and teaming up with their classmates with a little friendly competition for a good cause.
