Reading Success !!
Every student in our school, kindergarten-4th grade, is expected to read for a period of 20 minutes nightly. The research shows that reading 15 minutes-30 minutes each night will help your child be a more proficient reader and will be much more successful in school. This is so very important that we are asking parents to sign their child's reading logs each week. Educating your child is one of the most important jobs we have and we must collaborate on this in order to make the most gains. We can not do this huge job without your continued help and support.
Third Grade IREAD- 3
IREAD-3 is a test that is required by state law. This test measures reading skill of third grade students. Students who do not pass IREAD-3 in the spring will have an opportunity for remediation and are able to retest after the end of school. It is very important that your child spend time reading each evening in order for them to be best prepared for this upcoming March 2019 test.
Students who do not pass the spring and summer administrations of IREAD-3 will continue to receive instruction in Grade 3 reading, will officially be reported as a third grader, and will fully participate in the Grade 3 ILEARNassessment. There are some exemptions to this law. If you would like to know more about IREAD-3, please visit the Indiana Department of Education website:
