The AGAPE Times
a newsletter for students and families - 2020/21 Vol 9
A note from our Administrator, Lois Vosika-Weir
AGAPE Students and Families,
Quarter 4 has begun and we were so happy to welcome students who chose in person learning back in the AGAPE building on 4/14! Seeing smiling eyes (thanks to great mask wearing by our students and staff) in person and students in classrooms has been so great to see. We also want to acknowledge our virtual learning students and let them know that we appreciate their presence in our GoogleMeets and we love to see in person and virtual student collaboration. Seeing and hearing from your babies is an added bonus we all love!
On Fridays we are all distance learning together, and we wear college gear and we have our Virtual All-School Meetings at 10:30am on GoogleMeet. We have had some great guest speakers and fun activities, even some prizes! Please join us- the GoogleMeet code will always be: agapeadmin
Feel free to contact me any time with questions. Call or text (651) 335-9145 or email at lois.vosika-weir@spps.org.

Letter to Families regarding teacher variance
Date: 05/21/2021
Dear AGAPE Families,
Each year, Minnesota school districts may be unable to hire a fully licensed teacher for a particular teaching assignment. Some teachers may instead receive special permission to continue teaching in their assigned subject area or grade level.
I’m writing to let you know that your child’s teacher does not currently meet license requirements or state certification to teach either the assigned subject area, grade level or both (as listed below).
SCHOOL NAME: AGAPE High School
TEACHER NAME: Michelle Storvick
¨ SUBJECT AREA ASSIGNED: Parenting Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, Early Childhood Family Education
¨ GRADE LEVEL ASSIGNED: Grades 9-12
The Saint Paul Public Schools Human Resources Department is in the process of requesting special permission from the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) and Board of Teaching for the teacher to be certified to teach the course(s) listed above.
For more information about this teacher’s assignment, please contact me at:

Just a friendly reminder that to make sure you are taking your attendance every day! Last week we noticed several students had forgotten to take their attendance. In addition, your synchronous class time is super valuable to your learning! Make sure to check in with your teachers if you are struggling. They have open office hours just to help you! If you are struggling with other barriers to attendance, please contact myself, Mary Gannon, Mrs. Weir or Amy Buck.
