Industrial Revolution of America
Behind the scenes of success
The Deception of the Industrial Revolution
Though some may differ, the American Industrial Revolution, discredited America in more than one way. Workers held up with the struggle of bosses, the toughest jobs, and the danger of being around machines these machines, day and night.
Factory Conditions
While working, if workers were injured on the job, they were let go because they were so called,"useless" to the bosses. Other than unfair treatment, polluted air filled the factory, leaving no choice but to take in the gas of the machines.
Child Labor
Taken to an extent, the small children were to stay small so they would barely be fed just to keep their tiny little fingers. We see these highly detailed rugs with beautiful designing, but we never think about who really made them.
Workdays
To keep machines running, workdays lasted 12 to 14 hours a day. Workers were so tired after working so many hours, they would sometimes fall asleep on the job.
In the End
Though, in the end, there are indeed pros such as inventions, new transportation, mass production, and job opportunities. However, the cons still outweigh those factors with poor factory conditions, child labor, and extreme working hours.
