School Counselor Chronicles
I am extremely excited to transition from the classroom to the counseling office and try to help all of you reach your post-secondary aspirations while maintaining the best possible frame of mind in the process! I'll be working closely with our wonderful Pathways teachers to create times throughout the semester to pull you out of class to meet about your 4-year plan, your current status in that 4-year plan, and how we can ensure that your 4-year plan becomes a reality. If you'd like to schedule a time to meet with me regarding academic or personal concerns, please email me and we can get a time set up!
- College Schedules:
Students, it is important that you do not make any changes to your current Fall 2019 TCC Schedule. This includes changing the actual course to another course and making changes to the course section (changing the day/time that the course is scheduled and/or changing the professors).
If you need to make a change to your TCC Fall Schedule, please contact me prior to making the change. IF YOU CHANGE YOUR SCHEDULE WITHOUT CONTACTING ME, YOU WILL BE DROPPED FROM THAT COURSE.
If TCC has made a change to your schedule over the summer (such as dropping you from a class that doesn’t have enough students), please contact me as soon as possible so that we can help you register for another course/section.
- High School Schedules:
Your schedules are almost complete. If you are an incoming freshman you can expect to receive your schedule on the last day of Summer Bridge. If you are a sophomore, junior, or senior you can pick up your schedule on CA registration day. I will also send out an email through skyward to everyone when all of the schedules are done and you will be able to view your schedule on Skyward.
- TCC Probation/Suspension:
If you are on probation or suspended from signing up for TCC classes I will set up a time to meet with you to discuss how you move forward. The best thing to do at this point is to log on to your WebAdvisor to see if your classes are still being listed. If they are not, then please reach out to me because it may be due to probation/suspension and if it is the faster we work to solve the problem, the more likely you are to get placed back into your classes.

GCISD Technology
Ensuring your Student's District Technology is Ready for the 2019-20 School Year
As we get close to the start of school, it's important; we make sure your students have all the supplies and tools needed to be successful. If your child has a district-issued iPad/Chromebook or laptop, now is the time to look it over.
Most common things to look for when checking out your student's devices:
1. Cracked or damaged screen
2. Missing keys
3. Lost chargers
Remember for district IPads crack screens while in the protective district case is free* to repair.
GCISD technology provides summer repair services, so act now to help eliminate any lost instructional time for device repairs at the start of school. Click the link below for information on summer device repair.
https://www.gcisd.net/cms/One.aspx?portalId=96313&pageId=23319561
*few only applies if blatant misuse has occurred ( ran over by vehicles, thrown off buildings, etc.) and actual iPad screen is damaged.
Student Skyward logins have changed
To better serve our students, GCISD technology has migrated all Student logins into Skyward to match their network logins. Students will no longer need to remember a separate login when trying to access Skyward.
As a reminder, please encourage students to use Classlink to login. By using Classlink students will get instant access into all their district resources without having to remember passwords or links.
