Assessment Norming & Expectations
When administering assessments, we are:
- Up and pacing the room while students are working.
- Providing compliments to students on positive testing behaviors.
- Monitoring time management.
- Pushing students thinking by ensuring any assessment checklists are being used.
- Observe and record observations on student writing behaviors.

Rule of Thumb to Make Life Easier with Reading & Writing Grades:
Students need a total of NINE grades for the semester for each subject. Therefore, 3 grades for each unit (3 units per semester) will help you to reach this expectation.

Guided Math Workshop in Action
Concrete, Representational, Abstract Method (CRA)-Gradually release students to ensure that they are able to gain a conceptual understanding of the what, why, and how of mathematical skills.
Mini-Lesson: Gradual Release, Demonstration, Specific Strategy, 8-10 min.
Guided Groups: Gradual Release, Specific Strategy, Practice,2-3 Groups, 15-20 min

- AVID Binders should be set up and in full swing including tools for students to be successful with their independent work.
- We will have our first AVID Meeting for all AVID Ambassadors (AVID Trained teachers) Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in Ms. Worthy's room.
