OCTOBER 2022
Happy Fall. With the return of cooler temperatures comes the return of fall and winter cold and flu season. Please remember to keep your children home when sick, test regularly for COVID and if symptoms aren't improving to see your pediatrician. Generally, if not COVID + children can return to school once symptoms are improving and they've been fever free for >24 hours without fever reducing medication and vomiting and diarrhea free for >24 hours. The best way to stay safe from COVID is by having your entire family stay up to date with their COVID vaccines and boosters. Flu vaccination for everyone is also recommended. I just got my flu and COVID vaccines last week and my daughters have their flu shots scheduled for this weekend. Flu vaccines are widely available through your pediatrician or local pharmacy. October is also Bullying Prevention Month and is a great time to discuss bullying with your children.
