News From Mrs. Lemus' Class

This Week....
This is going to be a great week in third grade! We have lots to do and special events happening!
Math~ We are continuing to work on the multiplication/division module. This week students will start marking math facts they know on their math fact tracker located in their data binder. Please take a look at the math unit review tracker as well. This gives examples of problems we are working on in class.
ELA- This week we will continue with the main idea/supporting details proficiency scale by reading nonfiction passages about the first Thanksgiving, the Mayflower Compact, life of pilgrims and timelines of the voyages they made.
Writing- Our persuasive writing lessons with be centered on The Tale of Peter Rabbit. This is a fun lesson because students look at Peter's behavior from different points of view in order to write a persuasive essay.
Social Studies- We are focusing on citizenship and what it means to be a good citizen. We will do activities this week to determine whether something is a right or a responsibility.
Thank you for all of the glue sticks!!!! It really changes the flow of the day when students have what they need! Thank you so much!

Class Goal
Treat others as you would want to be treated. Timeless and true....we had many good discussions about what this looks like. Please ask your child to share their thoughts with you!
