UIL Solo and Ensemble, Feb. 3
UIL Solo and Ensemble is Saturday, February 3. We do not have specific times yet but we will be receiving them this week. We will take a bus to College Park High School, but students are also welcome to drive as long as they are early for their assigned time.
Dress in “Sunday-Best” or “Job Interview” clothing. Women, a dress, skirt or suit is appropriate. However, no mini-skirts, please. Men, slacks and a tie are a must. Blazer would be nice, but not necessary. No jeans or tennis shoes. You will not perform if you are not dressed appropriately. The expectations of a High School Performance are different than middle school. The judges want Professionalism and everyone to be “Dressed for Success”.
Your music must be memorized and you need to know how to pronounce your composer’s name. The judge will ask you what your song is about, so be prepared to answer.
Soloists will need to pay for their accompanist fee only. Fees are below and will be assigned in schoolcashonline carts.
Class 1 solo: $30
Class 2 solo: $30
Class 3 solo: $25
HGO High School Night at the Opera
High School Night at the Opera is coming soon, Tuesday, Feb. 6! All tickets have been sold and a waiting list has been created if any tickets become available. We will be taking a bus downtown on Tuesday, February 6th immediately following the school day to go to dinner downtown and see Madame Butterfly! Students will need to bring a change of clothes(must be VERY nice, like a fancy wedding event) on this day to change into immediately after school. Students will also need to bring money for dinner and the amount is dependent upon where they choose to go. There are many options around the theater with a large range of prices. We will head downtown right at 3:00 to be able to have plenty of time for students to eat dinner.

Final Balances!
If you have missed previous months payments, you can make multiple purchases of the current month to catch up. Several families are way behind on payments and will be receiving emails this week. We have large payments coming up to TMF, MidAmerica, and Southwest Airlines and do not have enough money to float payments. It is imperative that all families catch up on payments ASAP. Unfortunately, each month's link expires at the end of the month.
Paying through schoolcashonline does include a service charge of approximately $15 per $300 payment
