Texas contributes to WWII

Over 750,000 Texans served in World War II after the US joined the war in 1941. Texas was a training location for the war, over 1,500,000 military personnal came to train in Texas, and Texas was where prisoners-of-war were put to work on farms and military bases.

Over 22,000 Texans died while fighting in the war.

Effects on Texas homefront





World war II swep aside many traditions and belief at the time. This lead to peoples values being changed, causing disruptions

For example, during that time the war was coming short of clothing supplys, this is when dresses became shorter, so cotton and wool could be used as a better supply.
