iTeach MakerCamp 2019
Day 2--June 4
Maker Camp Day 2
What a fun Tuesday! We celebrated Winter holidays. Campers made dreidels, a variety of ornaments, and their favorite---ICE CREAM!!!
Tomorrow, campers will learn about Leonardo da Vinci and his inventions and artwork.
Updates / Reminders
- We post pictures to Seesaw throughout the camp day. Don't forget to check them out!
- Send a refillable water bottle with your child - we have filtered bottle refill stations on campus.
- Friday afternoon is the student-directed conference time for your child to share with you all that he or she has learned this week. Please plan to be here about 2:15 pm so your child can share with you.
- Lunch Friday will be in the Commons. It is a favorite of our campers so no need to pack a lunch on Friday. You just need to send a snack.
Day 2 Highlights
Morning Meeting and Maker Sessions
We used our morning meeting time to talk about holidays that are celebrated and had our campers share some of the holidays they celebrate in their family. They watched a video about what is missing when Christmas is celebrated in July. Ask your camper what was missing.
Our morning maker sessions included making a glitter ornament, a milk carton gingerbread house and a dreidel. Once the dreidel was made, the campers played the dreidel game and we talked about Hanukkah.
Afternoon Fun
After lunch our campers made ice cream! They learned the science behind why the ice needs rock salt to make the ice cream. We finished our day making 3D Christmas trees and using Seesaw to reflect on all that they learned today.
