Hailey Parent Update
School Closure Update - March 19, 2020
Conroe ISD closed through April 10
A letter to Hailey FAmilies
Dear Hailey Families,
I hope this message finds you and your family safe and healthy. In the uncertainty of this situation, I would like to share a few pieces of information that let you know how we are moving forward with our instructional components.
As of right now, CISD is now closed through April 10. Our superintendent, Dr. Curtis Null, will again address the families in our district on Thursday, March 19, 2020. Dr. Null will re-evaluate the situation and make a determination of when school will resume. In the meantime, Hailey staff will reach out to parents through phone calls and emails. Timely information is critical and we will work diligently to keep you up to date with district information.
This is a very difficult time for all of us and each of our families is facing unique challenges. What I do know is that our Hailey family has seen many things in the last few years. Just like we pulled together during Hurricane Harvey, I know we will come together again to keep our children safe, healthy, and the center of everything we do as partners.
Just as you will hear in Mrs. Florian's message below, this situation will not last forever. We will get back to normal. I speak for our entire staff when I say we miss your children and are working hard behind the scenes to provide resources that will help you in supporting each child. We will be back together soon and I know that we will be stronger than ever.

CISD Virtual Learning Announcement
CISD will post a parent website this evening after Dr. Null's Facebook Live address. The website is to help you stay informed and be familiar with the structure of virtual instruction. It is a comprehensive tool to help you understand the approach the district is taking. This site is not meant to overwhelm parents with the expectation to do it all. It will be posted on the Conroe ISD website the evening of March 19, 2020. It will also be updated regularly with current information.
Fun Learning!
As we move into this time of transition, we wanted to provide you with some wonderful resources you can utilize at home until the virtual instruction begins on Monday March 23rd.
Below you will find different grade level choice boards for the kids to have a go to place for something to do. Each grade level has a choice board. However, kids are welcome to explore all of the choice boards for fun activities. For Example the Early Learning board has websites, Apps and fun activities. So use these resources to have fun and explore different things to do.
You can use this during breaks of the virtual learning recommended schedule (coming soon).

Current Information:
In an effort to help families through this process, information below will help in preparation for next week and help students be ready for school when it resumes:
1. Conroe ISD will be closed through April 10 with re-evaluation on April 6.
2. Governor Abbott announced that he has waived the STAAR testing requirements for the 2019-2020 school year. TEA announced on March 19, 2020, that all STAAR testing has been cancelled for the year.
3. Beginning next week, Hailey will send out instructional information on Tuesdays. The information will include a variety of links and activities to keep students engaged and prevent instructional regression. The material is not mandatory, but a helpful tool for parents.
4. The district will be reviewing all processes to assure we have all of the information necessary to assure our staff and students are safe as we return to school. Our campus is working on a two pronged plan: preparing instruction for students in case of additional closures and how to manage social distancing once school resumes.
5. All activities, practices, and performances continue to be cancelled. Please use this time to assure you are healthy.
6. We encourage all of our families to take precautions to stay healthy and use the CDC advice on health care. We encourage families to stay at home as much as possible and limit travel to only necessary trips.
Our staff wishes all of you the best and hope that you have a healthy time off and we look forward to your return soon.
