Please join the Special Education Department in recognizing the Speech Language Pathologists this week. Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) provide critical support to students across the District in language development, social communication, and speech. They provide intervention services within general education and special education settings. Their work is integral in ensuring all students' success across academic, social-emotional, and functional domains.

Oswego Junior Public Safety Academy - 2023

Join the Oswego Police & Fire Department’s for our annual Oswego Junior Public Safety Academy. The academy is open to any student enrolled in a District 308 Junior High School for the 2023 – 2024 school year. There is no charge to attend. Oswego Junior Public Safety Academy Recruits/Cadets will be exposed to several different aspects of the Police and Fire profession, with a focus on the “why” rather than the “how”. Some of the topics covered will include: •Traffic Stops •Car accident & crime scene investigation •Patrolling the streets •Water flow and fire extinguishment •K-9 demonstration •Building searches All topics of discussion will incorporate positive decision-making skills, with a focus on developing positive moral character. An emphasis is placed on each child’s role in maintaining the quality of our community. All graduates will receive a Junior Public Safety Academy T-Shirt and Diploma. Rep. Underwood’s Congressional Readers Program

Students in grades K-5 who live or attend a school in the 14th District of Illinois can participate in Representative Lauren Underwood’s Congressional Summer Reading Program. Students must have parent/guardian permission to participate. Students will have until Friday, July 14 to read at least 10 books. All participants will be invited to a special celebration with the Congresswoman in August. The student in each grade who reads the most books will receive a special recognition from Congresswoman!

PrairieFest Parade - Sunday, June 18th (Starts at 1:00/Lineup at 12:15)

SD 308 will be participating in Oswego’s PrairieFest Parade - “Summer Starts Here” .........and we are looking for individuals to walk with us! If you or other family members of SD 308 would like to participate, please fill out this form to let us know! All walkers will receive a FREE t-shirt if signed up prior to Wednesday, May 24th. Tshirt(s) for the parade will be available for pick up the week prior to the parade (June 12 - June 15) at the SD 308, Douglas Road Facility, 1008 Douglas Road, Oswego, which is located behind the Dominos Pizza. PLEASE NOTE: Elementary Students MUST have a parent walk with them; Junior High and High School students do not need parents to walk with them. Registration deadline is May 25th. OHS - The 30th Annual Oswego Panther Athletic/Alumni golf Outing is scheduled for Friday, June 9, 2023. In the ongoing spirit of “Once a Panther, Always a Panther,” it is the wish to continue the long and storied tradition to shine through and make this outing a celebration to reinvigorate our parents, community members, and allow our alumni to reconnect.
