A Word From Mrs. Agee
It’s hard to believe that we are already into our 3rd week of school. I’d like to thank each of you for a very smooth start to the school year! I hope that you all had a restful and fun Labor Day weekend. For my family this was a special time to travel to the mountains and spend time with our family and friends. It seemed to give us the perfect ending to summer.
Throughout the year our school wide character focus will be kindness. Additionally, Dr. Davis has declared September as Kindness Month in RIchland Two. We will be discussing this at school and I encourage you to continue the discussion at home. I don’t know about you, but car rides to and from school are a very special time for our family. I find that when my kids are strapped in their booster seats I have a captive audience to talk with them about various important topics. I sometimes find that my questions are very generic like, “How was your day?” but some days their responses to this question don’t take us very far. This month I am making a commitment to focus on the topic kindness during our car rides. I am going to ask my children each day, “Can you tell me about an act of kindness you saw today?” I truly believe that as we focus on the kindness that surrounds us each day, we see more opportunities to extend kindness to others. I hope you will join me in this challenge and I look forward to hearing your stories of kindness in action.
We will continue to monitor the weather closely this week. Please look for any updates regarding potential changes in schedule to school to come from the District.
I am hopeful that you will join us for Curriculum Night this Thursday, September 5. We will host two sessions. The first session will be at 6:00 pm and the second session will begin at 6:35 pm. We typically encourage families to attend the session for their youngest child first. If you haven’t done so already, this is a great opportunity to join the PTA!
