Happy New Year from the Red Lions!
We hope you all had a wonderful winter break!
With the start of Trimester 2 in mid-December and the start of 2021 just a few days ago, we figured it was time for another issue of Read between the Lions! We are returning from break more refreshed and relaxed and looking forward to the start of a new year for you, your student, and our team.
Please read below for important information from the Red Lions team. If you have any questions about any of the information in this newsletter, do not hesitate to contact us! We are here to help!

Some Notes and Changes to Google Classroom Assignment Posts
Starting on Monday, we will make a small change to how we post our Google Classroom assignments. To improve student organization and communicate teacher expectations, we are going to make all online assignments due at 8:00 p.m. That way, there will no longer be a variety of due date times posted on your student's schedule. We chose this time to emphasize that we expect students to be done with their work at this time, although students who need or want to work beyond 8:00 p.m. are able to do so.

Exemplary Writing- Mr. Williams
During Trimester 1, we covered topics such as narrative writing, figurative language, and some artistic forms of poetry. Whether it be our assignments on descriptive writing, point of view, or figurative language, your students have created some exemplary writing! Click the link to check it out!
What Causes Seasons -Mrs. Adams
ALL Red Team teachers offer Office Hours from 11:45-12-15. We highly encourage everyone to utilize this time to check in with us.
Encourage your child to reach out to us directly if they need anything!
Check Infinite Campus/Google Classroom To-Do list to stay up to date on your grades.
Refer to our team Communication Board or Team APP for daily assignments and announcements.
We encourage you to review assignments with your child on their at home days. We suggest to all students to write down all assignments in the morning (using their KPMS planner) and then check them off as they complete them. This could be something you can review with them in the afternoon/evening. This also really helps students stay focused and on track.
Setting Up Notifications on Infinite Campus
If you would like to set up notifications, you can click here and scroll down to the "Notifications" section for more information. You can set up the notifications to tell you when grades are posted, when assignments are missing, and/or when grades are below a certain percentage.
It contains helpful resources from Guidance, suggestions for students who finish early, answers to frequently asked questions, and much, much more!
🦁Thank you for your time!🦁
Have a wonderful day!
