MISSION: IGNITING A PASSION FOR LEARNING
Message from the Principal
Dear KMS Families,
Welcome back to another exciting school year at KMS! We hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer break. As we begin this new chapter, we wanted to share some important updates with you.
First and foremost, we want to extend a warm welcome to both new and returning families. We are thrilled to have you as part of our KMS community, and we look forward to working together to create a supportive and engaging learning environment for all our students.
To help keep you informed and connected, we are excited to introduce our new KMS Family Information Hub. This hub will serve as a central resource for parents, providing easy access to important information, updates, and resources. We understand that staying organized and up-to-date can be challenging, especially with busy schedules, so we hope this hub will be a valuable tool for you to have all the information you need at your fingertips.
In terms of safety and procedures, we want to inform you that all students will be required to wear their Student IDs every day this school year. A lanyard will be provided to your child on picture day when they receive their Student ID. This is an important measure to ensure the safety and security of our students and staff. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring that your child wears their Student IDs at all times while on campus.
Lastly, we want to express our excitement about partnering with families this year. We believe that strong collaboration between home and school is essential for student success. We value your input, involvement, and support, and we are committed to working together to create the best possible educational experience for your child.
Thank you for your continued trust in KMS. We are looking forward to a fantastic year ahead!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Skelton

Upcoming Event- Spotlight
September 18 from 6:00-8:00 pm will be "Walk the Schedule" night.
What you will need:
You will need your child(ren)'s schedule(s). These can be found in Skyward or by stopping at the welcome table when you arrive.
How it works:
We will meet in the gym for a brief welcome and logistical information. Parents will then start moving through their child's schedule. We will have approximately 10-12 minutes per class period. The purpose of the evening is to meet the teacher, learn how their classroom runs, and how to contact them if you have concerns or need help. If you have more than one child we will start the schedule over at 7:00 pm. If you have completed your walkthrough we will have optional break-out sessions to assist you on Skyward, helping your child in Middle School, and other optional sessions.
This evening is designed to get your year started on the right foot! Please consider joining us!

Get Involved at KMS!
We appreciate that being a parent of a middle schooler can be incredibly busy. Between driving them to activities and constantly running errands, it can be challenging to find time to get involved in their school. However, KMS understands your situation and wants to provide opportunities for you to be involved in your child's education, no matter how busy you are.
To make it easier for you to participate, we have created a spreadsheet that offers various ways for you to get involved at KMS. This spreadsheet will replace our previous KMS Parent Group, and we will only meet as subcommittees when necessary. By using this spreadsheet, you can choose the involvement options that suit your schedule and interests.
Furthermore, I will regularly update this section of the newsletter with additional opportunities to help out at KMS. We are grateful for your time and willingness to contribute to our school community.
