ELEMENTS OF SUCCESS:
- Hands-on training that allows teachers to experience learning from the student’s perspective.
- Content-rich lessons with clear outcome goals and suggested teaching strategies.
- Classroom exercises that allow teachers of all experience levels to relate math and science concepts to real-world scenarios.
- Tools to help monitor student understanding of complex concepts that are critical to rigorous coursework in higher grades.
- Opportunities for educators to collaborate, learn new techniques and receive feedback from peers.
RESULTS + IMPACT
- Research shows that students of LTF-trained teachers score better on math and science reading assessments. To learn more, visit Our Impact page.

AP TESTING
AP Testing starts Monday, 5/13!!
BELLS WILL BE OFF THROUGHOUT THE WEEK and daily announcements will be VERY limited– please watch your clock and share the announcements that Terry emails you with your students.
AP Testing is May 13-17, 22-24 and 29-31, 2019. We have 196 students signed up to take 377 AP exams this year so it is going to be a SUPER busy 3 weeks!
An AP Exam Roster will be in your box today for you to look over and highlight your students that are testing (week 1 on the front/weeks 2 and 3 on the back). We have several students taking multiple exams. Please remind them of their test day(s) and time as much as you can before their exam(s). Students with an 8:00 exam will need to be in their test room no later than 7:30. Seven of the exams must begin by noon so students taking these exams will need to leave 3rd period at 11:10 to go to the cafeteria to eat and report to their test site by 11:30.
An AP Exam Schedule will also be in your box (week 1 on the front/weeks 2 and 3 on the back)…we have several different subjects testing on the same day on several of the days and even 3-4 rooms of the same subject at the same time. Quite a few of you are needed to cover classes (calendar invites will be sent) and some classes have been relocated…please, please look over this carefully and be mindful of where you are needed and when. If you know you are going to be out, PLEASE leave this coverage information in your sub plans.
Also be mindful of the testing rooms and keep the area around them quiet.
The timing of the exams varies quite a bit…some are 2 hours, some 2 hours 15 minutes, some 3 hours, etc. (this does not include time for passing out/taking up materials or their 10 minute break). Look carefully at the exam schedule!
I will send daily reminders of those that are scheduled to test and let you know if any do not show. Please be careful with attendance…do not mark students absent that are testing.
Bells and daily announcements will be VERY limited during these 3 weeks – please watch your clock and share the announcements that Terry emails you with your students.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you!

The event is free to seniors because senior teachers supervise the students, staff members volunteer to drive buses, and we collect donations to feed them at the park. Your help with donations would be greatly appreciated.
Please consider donating any of the following items by Friday, May 17th:
- Individual bags of chips
- Cans of soda
- Bottled water
- Individually wrapped desserts
We also need 200 hot dogs (we already have 100) and 300 buns. If a few of you want to get together to purchase those, please let me know.
Also, if you have a way to send the information out to parents, please forward our list of needs to them as well.
Thanks,
Tiffany R. Rhodes
