November 2022
Dear Klein Cain Parents and Students,
I hope that this newsletter finds all of you doing well and beginning to enjoy the start of the Holiday Season. We have had so much happen since we started the 2022-2023 school year! I am having a hard time believing that we are in NOVEMBER and that is it almost 2023!!
As we get closer to Thanksgiving, I am often asked what I am most thankful for as a Principal and asked what has been the best part of my experience thus far in opening this amazing school. There are so many wonderful things that come to mind! Experiencing all of the "firsts" in school history has been something I will truly cherish forever; to see all of the hard work and dedication on the part of the faculty, staff and students come to fruition has been oh so memorable. Seeing all of our students step into leadership and mentoring roles, has been something I have enjoyed watching on a daily basis. Our kids truly are some of the strongest, kindest, mature and responsible students I have ever had the opportunity to work with.
When it comes to the most surprising aspect, I can say, without hesitation, that is has been watching the students support EACH OTHER in their endeavors. It is heart-warming to see the sheer number of students at the games, the shows, the concerts, the spirit nights, the dances, the meetings. They are there to support their classmates, their friends and their community. There is an undeniable feeling of support and collaboration among our student-body that is palpable when you are in their presence. They are proud to be Hurricanes and proud to cheer on their fellow classmates. As a principal, I could not ask for more from my students! They are the reason for my #ProudPrincipal moments and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for this campus and for the students as individuals as well.
I want to take this moment to wish all of you, and your families, a blessed Holiday Season. May the holidays bring you all a time of rest, relaxation and time with family and dear friends to create memories that will last a lifetime. In the spirit of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, I want to thank each and every one of you for allowing me the opportunity to work with you and your families. The staff and students at Cain are the reason I love getting up and coming to work each and every day. Thank you for the chance to get to work alongside some of the best in the field and for allowing me the chance to be the principal of a school full of absolutely amazing students! I have said it before, and I will continue to do so; there is no other place I would rather be right now that here at Klein Cain with all of you!
Be sure to visit our Klein Cain website, check out our campus calendar and follow our social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) to keep up with campus information and all of our Hurricane happenings! Klein Cain Orchestra: TMEA Honor Orchestra Placement!
We have some very exciting news to share! Congrats to Sundas Mohi-Truong, Hanson Yong and most importantly, congrats to our amazingly talented students!!! We are so very proud of all of you and thank you for representing Cain with such talent, passion and dedication!
This year, our varsity orchestra entered the Texas Music Educators Association Honor String Orchestra Competition. This consists of high school string orchestras throughout the state submitting recordings that are judged against each other and ranked. It is a highly competitive process that only results in about 8-10 finalists per year. This year, 34 groups from around the state entered the contest. We are so proud to share that the Klein Cain Varsity (Chamber) Orchestra advanced to the final round (top 10) and ultimately placed 6th in the entire state!
Klein Cain Cross Country Going to State!
On October 24th the Cross Country girls team competed at the Regional meet in Arlington. We would like to congratulate Rebecca Wylie on finishing 6th and Felicity Hamilton on finishing 9th overall to qualify for the State meet in Round Rock. Both Rebecca and Felicity are juniors, and this will be their 3rd year making it to the State meet. They will be competing at Old Settler's Park on November 4th at 10am. We are very excited to see what they will accomplish and wish them both the best of luck.
Football
Klein Cain Football captured 15-6A district championship. This is a first in our school history.
Klein Cain will play Cy-Ranch at Klein Memorial Stadium on Friday, November 11 at 7pm.
Volleyball Season 2022
Our 2022 Volleyball Season has come to an end. It was a great growing season, and we have so much to be proud of! Klein Cain Junior Varsity was 2nd in district to a very tough Tomball team! After beating Klein High School for the first time in school history, Varsity continued to put in work. Kelly Pawelka hit her 1000th career assist during our match against Klein at home, and we took many solid teams to great 5 set matches. We celebrated 6 AMAZING seniors (Maddy Floyd, Payton Strole, Mikaela Kissinger, Katie Evans, Courtney Carter, and Marissa Gold) at our last home game vs. Tomball. A special thank you to all who came out to support our matches throughout the season!!

Important Information
Student ID Sweeps
As we are making our way through this first semester, we continue to make sure that campus safety is always a focus of our staff and administration. We wanted to share a few reminders and updates.
- All students must be wearing their IDs at all times when they are on campus. Beginning Wednesday, November 9, we will begin campus wide ID sweeps.
- Failure to have your ID will result in a campus level discipline. Students can get a replacement ID in office 1100.
- The cost is $5.00
- Exterior doors lock at 7:15 am. After that time, students must enter through the front of the building.
Thank you again for your help with these processes, as we work collaboratively to ensure the safety and security of every member of our Hurricane family. Please feel free to reach out to any member of our Hurricane Administration team should you have any questions or concerns.
