The common sense media website is a great source for parents to get information about technology trends for children as they grow and to get ratings for all types of media children may want to engage with. Below is are links to the website and specific digital citizenship materials connected to our curriculum.

Library Policies
- K-1 students may check out 2 books
- 2-5 students may check out 3 books
- If a teacher requires a certain type of book for a classroom project, students may go beyond the book limit as needed for the project
- All books may be checked out for 2 weeks
- Books may be renewed unless requested by another patron
- If a book is overdue for 90 days it will be marked lost on day 91 and a fine will be assessed
- If a student returns a lost book within 90 days, fines will be refunded
- All fines must be paid by the end of the school year
- Fines are only assessed at the Elementary level for lost or damaged books
West Maple History Bee 3rd-5th grade
Mrs. Betts will work with students on Monday mornings in the school library beginning October 7 at 8:15 AM. Students can begin reading now! Use the links below to see details about this event and for some helpful tools.
If your student wants to participate please fill out the parent permission/student participation form below. Please use a parent email address.
Summer Reading (Grades 1-5)
Congratulations to all of the participants in this summer's Read-a-Palooza. Our students recorded a total of 70,834 reading minutes. Students who read 1000 minutes received a certificate for participating. Students with 1200 or more minutes received a small participation gift. Finally the top readers in each grade received a gift certificate for our fall book fair. The top readers for each grade were:
First Grade: Raleigh Parker
Second Grade: Norah Parker
Third Grade: Claudia Whitelam
Fourth Grade: Madeleine Stchekine
Fifth Grade: Dyson Betts
Library Volunteers
You can sign up for days your child has library or times that your child does not. Please use the sign up genius linked below to schedule your time.
